Written by Agatha Christie in the 1930s, And Then There Were None is one of her most highly acclaimed mystery novels. The novel was first published as Ten Little Niggers, then the title was changed to Ten Little Indians, and finally settled on And Then There Were None. The novel follows 10 completely different people after they are mysteriously invited to stay on the famous Soldier Island. The catch is that each guests hides a dark past: they are all guilty of murder. After dinner of the first night, the guests are informed that they are on the island to pay for their crimes. No one can escape and no one can hide. The guests begin to get picked off one by one, following the events of the children’s rhyme Ten Little Soldier Boys written by Frank Green. Christie’s writing makes it impossible to guess the killer, and constantly keeps the reader on their toes.
